Angela Davidson
Gilakas'la. Nugwa um Gwixsisa’las. My name is Angela Davidson and I am a Glendale through my Mother, Elizabeth Davidson.
After 4 long, hard years our Nations 1st Council has finally been able to move forward just in the past 7 months. I am here to move forward in a good way as a member of the Da'naxda'xw/Awaetlala First Nation Council. A council is a circle. The Circle is sacred to all Indigenous peoples and cultures of the world. It is a responsibility I take seriously and I take to heart.
No Councillor who is elected by our members deserves to be abused continually. I want the membership to understand that who ever is elected will need YOUR support to get through the next 3 years. There are many misunderstandings between families. Over the next 3 years I pray for understanding and healing to emerge.
If I am elected I will continue to work with those willing to work together for our Nation, territory and the next 7 generations. My focus and passion as a Councillor is on our Mother Earth and the environment. I will also work hard to share what council is working on with our members.
To close, hate puts us exactly where the colonial system wants us. Divided and fighting. I hope this next Council is able to go beyond the fighting to really begin to bring our people together to do the work our ancestors are calling us to do.
